Whitescar – Chapter 1
The Whitescar Company
How did we come to be you might be wondering, well let me tell you. It won’t be any fancy origin story as you might be expecting but what’s the point in telling only the good parts anyway.
Having traveled the world of Athera for a couple of months I had heard mentions of the Emerald Fever. The frequency I heard of it was frightening as it sounded that it spread like wildfire. Knowing of the Infirmary I helped back in Nauru I decided to go back to see if the cleric knew about this disease.
Arriving back at Nauru I got approached by some shady fellows, I wasn’t even off the ship yet. They were talking about joining them on a quest for the riches of the earth while trying to get me on the first ship to Beswin. Luckily I wasn’t new in Athera and wasn’t doing so bad looking at the gems I gathered otherwise I might had taken them up on their offer since the pay and food sounded nice enough. Pushing my way through them I finally reached the Infirmary and asked the cleric about this so called “Emerald Fever”.
He told me it wasn’t really a disease more so the urge of people to get rich and emigrate to pursue this urge.. My thoughts didn’t think that was such a bad idea, who doesn’t want to get rich. But it did cause a massive emigration to the Redfire Mesa the doc said. Having been there once or twice I knew of the brutalness of that place, best not be explored by unseasoned people. I thanked the cleric and went on my way.
Thinking back of the shady fellows I thought I could do it better and started a Company. Posted a paper on the noticeboard next to the embassy that I was hiring, didn’t have much luck nobody turned up at all. Guess the shady recruiters had more luck and were snooping them away right from under my nose. I decided I had waited long enough and charted a ship to take me as close to Beswin as possible.
After a day of walking I finally arrived at Beswin. I remember climbing my way up to Beswin and finally laying eyes on the Worldscar Ravine. What a sight to see the Worldscar Ravine was, I still get goosebumps walking over the bridges and feeling the wind gushing past.
While trying to learn the lay of the land from the locals I stumbled through one of the many mineshafts. Now I saw why it was named the Emerald Fever. Emeralds shining everywhere, almost blinding. That night in the bar I learned of beautiful Geysers located not far from here. I was hooked I had to see them. The next day I went at first light.
I could hear them from a mile away, shooting boiling water and steam out in the sky. Once I was closer and saw the view of the land I knew this would be the prime spot to settle. I set my tents up and then it hit me the perfect name for this endeavor. The geysers were as a white scar through this reddish land. Hence the current name of my Company, The Whitescar Company.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
