Construction and Planning of the Atherian Games - ExRider111Ryan - 06-01-2020

The following is a brainchild of mine and Lostnation's

Overview
After talking for a while, we have come up with a rough plan for an 'Olympics' sort of event for all of Atlas to participate in. The event is planned to be completely community-made, and only very limited participation from the Elders is requested. There is currently no decided date in which construction of the arena(s) will begin, and the location for where they will be constructed is currently undisclosed to avoid unwanted modification to the build site. I'm posting this thread to see who would be interested in participating in the event once it is completed, and who would be interested in helping with the construction of the Atherian Games, either by building or supplying of materials. The construction site will likely remain unclaimed by any nation for the duration of construction in order to allow all nations to participate in the construction, a hall will be built to commemorate everyone who participated in the construction of the arenas. Lore protection would be requested from the Elders, similar to Terryn's protection of the ships outside of Telaria.

How will the Games work?
The Atherian Games will effectively be an 'Olympics' event in which individuals may participate for a moderately sized entry fee. The Atherian Games will contain multiple competitions (5) - hence the plural name. Individuals will be able to register PER competition, and awards will be handed out to individuals PER competition. In order to register for a competition, participants must supply a 'buy-in' fee, which will be pooled and (divided up?) to be given to the winner(s) of the competition they participated in. If the Elders agree to participate, we would also request that they may award winners of each competition lore items. Individuals will participate independent of their nation, and awards will be given out to individuals, not their nation. However, individuals may register to represent their nation, even though this holds no material value, and only offers an alternative form of designation of participants, as well as bragging rights for the nation they represent. Each competition will be held 1-2 hours apart (TBD) from each other as to give all players a chance to participate in at least one competition despite their timezone. Participants will not be allowed to bring any items into competitions other than those supplied by the event staff. Drop boxes will be available for those who wish to store their items.

The current planned competitions are as follows, and are subject to change.
 1. Spleef
Free-For-All event. All participants are released onto the playing field at the same time, last man standing wins, shovels provided.
 2. Duels
Single Elimination Bracket event. Participants duel each other one at a time using the in-place dueling mechanic, basic dueling gear provided.
 3. Horse Race
Free-For-All event. First to the finish line wins. The event will consist of one lap around a large, double-sided walled off race track. The race track will contain a multitude of jumps, obstacles, and hazards. Horses will be supplied by the event staff, and all horses will be tested to have the same stats, and a testing area will be open to all participants during the pre-game if they wish to verify their horse has the proper stats.
 4. Building Competiton
Bracketed event, (Single elimination?). Participants will have 10 minutes to construct a small build which must match a theme related to one of the biomes of Atlas. The theme will be decided in the pre-game of each face-off by the judges (3). Participants will likely have to build multiple structures for multiple different themes, hence the small scale of the builds and the time limit is implemented. We request that the Elders be the judges for the event, due to the event's possibility for bias in judging.
 5. Trident Javelin Throw (Suggested by warrpoe)

Estimated Construction Time after beginning of construction: 1 month

Fyi, it was Terryn, not Tyrriel, who protected my ships.

If you build anything that is for the enjoyment of all Atlians and you don't benefit from it, it will be protected

The Templar Order will build a grandstand and field for jousting combat, if allowed!

Lmao, everyone has to take a 50 minute boat ride to get there. Would be a very interesting location, but we already have a spot chosen.
